If you feel you have a medical condition or are currently under medical supervision, it is recommended that you consult your physician before scheduling a service.

Why is it important to be aware of the medications oral or topical?

Medications to treat acne or to thin the blood may potentially cause the skin to thin and lift during your treatment. We advise that you complete your regimen of treatment before receiving service. Consult the medication instructions or your physician on how long the waiting period should be. Times range from 14 days up to 6 months from the day you stopped taking them to receive services.

Does waxing hurt?

There is some discomfort, however, it is our goal to make your waxing experience as comfortable as possible.

Can I still get waxed If I’m on my menstrual cycle?

No, If possible, avoid scheduling your wax service around or during your cycle as you are most sensitive during this time

How long will my Brazilian wax last?

Accepted Answer

Usually 4-6 weeks depending on which hair growth cycle you are in. These cycles change when you get waxed regularly and allow for longer time periods between waxes.

How long will it take for the redness to go away?

Accepted Answer

This depends on your level of sensitivity. Customers with sensitive skin will stay red longer than customers without sensitive skin.

Question 7

I have little white dots that look like whiteheads. What is that?

Accepted Answer

Some people get these white dots, but most don't. It is the body's defense mechanism reacting to the hair follicle being removed. This means your hair has been removed directly from the root and will not re-grow for a long time.

Should I shave in between appointments?

Accepted Answer

No. Shaving can cause the hair to grow thicker and can cause ingrown hairs. Waxing changes the structure of the hair, causing it to grow back softer and finer. Regular waxing and proper maintenance ensure softer skin and fewer ingrown hairs.

When should I come back for my next appointment?

To properly maintain your Brazilian wax, appointments are recommended between 4 to 5 weeks.

Will my 2nd Brazilian be easier than my first?

Accepted Answer

As you continue to get waxed, there will be less hair that grows back, and it will be weaker and finer. This combination creates an easier waxing experience.

I feel little, tiny hairs after my waxing. What is that?

Accepted Answer

The first stage of hair growth is the ANAGEN (growth) phase, which is hair right below the skin getting ready to come up. If you feel any hair above the skin, this is what you are feeling. This hair was not able to be removed because it was NOT above the skin yet. This will minimize and be eliminated after additional waxes.

What should I do before waxing?

Shower or freshen up before your service.

Exfoliate a day or two before your wax. This will remove dead skin, allowing wax to grip shorter hairs.

For your first waxing 1/2 inch long is preferred. If not, the hair should be no shorter than 1/4 inch long (the length of a grain of rice).

If you plan on being spray-tanned, get waxed first. Do not get a spray tan on the same day of waxing.

Waxing is contraindicated for Accutane, Retin A or Renova so we do not recommend waxing on any part of the body for those clients. If you have had a glycolic (an alpha hydroxy acid) or a salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid) peel on the area to be waxed, you will have to wait 2 to 4 weeks before the area can be waxed.

Try to schedule your first waxing at a time when you feel rested and not stressed. Caffeine, nicotine, and heavy alcohol consumption can make you feel over-sensitive during your treatment.

Avoid caffeine 5 hours prior to getting waxed to reduce sensitivity.

Question 13

What do I do after my wax service?

NO tanning beds for at least 24 hours. Your skin is a protective barrier so allow it to regenerate.

DO NOT touch the waxed area for at least 6 hours, doing so may cause irritation, and in extreme cases, infection.

DO NOT have intimate contact in the waxed area for at least 6 hours. This advice is for my first-time waxers. If you get waxed on a regular basis irritation will be less likely. It’s your call!
 
NO super tight clothing for 4 hours. Waxed skin needs air to avoid irritation.

NO heavy exercising for at least 24 hours. Avoid friction and heavy perspiration in the waxed area.

NO hot shower or bath for at least 6 hours. If needed, take a lukewarm shower while the follicle is still open from waxing.

Gently exfoliate 3-10 days after waxing, this can help the new hairs from becoming ingrown.

Exfoliate a couple of times a week and follow with a non-irritating moisturizer.
